Gulf International Bank appoints Professor Abdullah bin Hassan Alabdulgader as Chairman to succeed the late Chairman H.E. Jammaz bin Abdullah Al-Suhaimi

The Board of Directors of Gulf International Bank B.S.C. (GIB) has announced the appointment of Professor Abdullah bin Hassan Alabdulgader as its Chairman as of 1st of January 2018 and until the end of the Board of Director's current term which will end on 25th August 2018. The Board has also reviewed the composition of its Committees according to the respective mandates and authorities.

 

Professor Alabdulgader was Vice Chairman to the late Chairman His Excellency Jammaz bin Abdullah Al-Suhaimi, who dedicated his professional life to developing the banking and economic sector in the region.

 

Professor Alabdulgader is currently the Chairman of the Board of Saudi Telecom Company (STC). He also serves as a Director in several prominent companies, including Saudi Arabian Investment Company (Sanabil), Saudi Arabian Railroads Company (SAR), and Al Faisaliah Group. He also leads the Professional Quality Monitoring Committee at the Saudi Organisation of Certified Public Accountants. Professor Alabdulgader was professor of Business Administration at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals; and a Commissioner at the first Saudi Capital Market Authority, where he led the development of the Kingdom’s corporate governance code.  As a Founding Executive Director of the GCC Board Directors Institute, he continued to promote corporate governance in the region. Professor Alabdulgader holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, USA; and MBA and BSc degrees in Business Administration from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
