BackGIB opens its largest meem retail banking branch in Riyadh
Everest climber Al-Eidi honoured at opening ceremony
Riyadh, 15 July 2019: As part of its strategy to provide innovative and fully integrated digital services to its customers in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Gulf International Bank (GIB) opened its largest meem retail banking branch in Riyadh on Monday 15 July. The branch was opened by GIB Chief Executive Officer, Abdulaziz Al-Helaissi.
The opening ceremony also saw the Bank honouring young Saudi champion Saud Al-Eidi, who meem sponsored in his expedition to conquer Mount Everest. This sponsorship reflects meem’s interest in and support for individual initiatives, especially youth initiatives, who use digital technology in every aspect of their lives.
Al-Helaissi said he was delighted by the opening of the largest meem branch, noting that all facilities and operations in the branch are digitised, allowing customers to easily complete banking transactions without cash operations or human intervention.
“Whether in business or in our social life, digitisation is the language of today,” said Al-Helaissi. “Therefore, meem is a fully integrated digital service available around the clock, whether in physical branches or through applications”.
The branch also has a dedicated presentation area and will be holding sessions with leading speakers to discuss the digital revolution and its implications on the banking sector. This is part of meem’s support to the digital sector and those interested in it.
